How much more bottom time can I get?
For example, if you dive to 15 metres/50 feet on air, your no decompression limit is 80 minutes. But, diving on EANx36 gets you 220 minutes of no decompression time - an increase of 140 minutes! It's perfect for underwater photographers, wreck divers and anyone who wants to stay down longer.

Proven effective in several decades of use by military, research, and technical divers, EANx is rapidly becoming the gas of choice in the recreational diving community. By increasing the percentage of oxygen at the expense of nitrogen, longer no-decompression limits are available to PADI Enriched Air Specialty Divers.

This is the entry level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen content.

Typical of PADI courses, this specialty offers all the necessary safety information, presented in an easy to learn format. In addition, PADI has added a wide selection of EANx material (new tables, tank decals, and a manual) in support of its commitment to provide PADI divers with the cutting edge in safe, recreational diving technology.
